Happy new year 2023 💫, hopefully getting better, healthier, and blessing going forwards. Aamiin. Ok friends, the topic of my blog in early 2023 was Basic Trauma Life Support.
Basic life support is a series of initial efforts or first aid when injuries occur before getting medical action. Exercise must be part of the routine for a balanced life. But what if there are people around us who suddenly fall? And we are the closest person to help. Of course we inevitably have to provide temporary emergency relief. But, if it is not right, help actually worsen the condition of the person being helped. If we are the first to help the victim, immediately call the emergency number, do emergency help or if you are unable to shout to the local residents for the help.
Trauma
a. Fall from stairs or the like:
- Compress the lump with ice for 15 minutes and repeat every hour
- After the bumps are reduced, but there are still bruisses, compress with warm water
- Gentle massage the bruish with the thumb. Massage in a circular motion
- Drying bruises for about 10 minutes
- If there is bleeding, stop bleeding with a clean cloth or sterile gauze, clean the wound+dirt on the wound with running water, give antiseptic and cover with plester
c. Got electric shock
- Compress the lump with ice for 15 minutes and repeat every hour
- After the bumps are reduced, but there are still bruisses, compress with warm water
- Gentle massage the bruish with the thumb. Massage in a circular motion
- Drying bruises for about 10 minutes
- If there is bleeding, stop bleeding with a clean cloth or sterile gauze, clean the wound+dirt on the wound with running water, give antiseptic and cover with plester
b. Fall at height (more fatal than before)
- Make sure the surrounding position is safe, avoiding rubble or slippery soil
- Contact medical personnel and ambulances (911 in Indonesia🇮🇩 and the USA 🇱🇷) immediately if the injury is serious
- Do emergency help before ambulance comes: if the victim is conscious, ask which body part hurts. If bleeding occurs, press the wound with a clean for a while
- If the victim has a broken bone and shifted,
- If the victim has a broken bone and shifted,

c. Got electric shock
- That must be considered that is an electric shock above 500 volt because it can cause serious injury
- The condition of being electrocuted was not only contact with electrical devices or electronics that were electrified, but also struck by lightning
- Turn off the electricity
d. Burns
- There are three degrees of burns: light, medium, and heavy
- Light burns: maximum wound area is 8 cm, only the outer layer of skin is injured, looks red, and swollen. For example: injuries from the sun and exposure to exhaust heat. Treatment: put a towel that has been soaked in cold water and let stand for 15 minutes and if you feel pain and use pain relievers such as paracetamol
- Medium burns: skin looks blistered, very sore, looks pale, easily spread to other parts of the body, the burned area looks wet and shiny. For example: exposed to hot oil. Treatment: put a towel that has been soaked in cold water and let stand for 15 minutes. Wait for medical help because the wound is sensitive and easily spreads to other parts of the body
- Heavy burns: damaging the skin, nerves, muscles, to the bones, lack of body fluids, decrease of body temperature, and the skin is burnt. Nerve damage causes the skin to feel nothing. For example: caught in the flames. Treatment: keep victim away from sources of fire, remove jewelry, belts, or accessories used around the burned body area, lay victim on a flat with feet raised 40 cm, use a blanket or coat to cover the victim's body, avoid using cold water to prevent hypothermia, and wait for medical help.

Buon anno e successo sempre
DeleteInteresting article. Sometimes in an emergency situation in a public place, for example there are victims of natural disasters or accident victims, the first one who finds them confused when they want to help actually makes the victim's condition worse. Happy new year
ReplyDeleteThat's right. When faced with this emergency situation, we must quickly make a decision considering that the victim must quickly get first aid. Call the emergency number immediately. If you can help, do it, if not, ask for help from local residents. Happy new year. In 2023, we will be better and blessed
DeleteSometimes I like to panic when I see blood. Shouldn't panic, I'm still have to be treated. btw, I'm also a law graduate, kak.
ReplyDeleteOf course, when you have a phobia of seeing blood, you should avoid victims who are lying and covered in blood, however, your own safety is more important. It is better to immediately call the emergency number and ask the tokiong local residents who are used to doing first aid. Wow, law graduates too, a lot of viral and interesting legal news is made into blog articles with a more relaxed version, even jokes are inserted
DeleteWow 😍
Selamat tahun baru 2023
Terima kasih atas apresiasinya.
DeleteI used to be one of the Red Cross Volunteers when I was in college. The procedures you wrote here were the skills we learnt and practiced, performing the first aids when people around us got accident or injury. Thanks for sharing though!
ReplyDeleteOrganizational experience in humanitarian institutions is a great thing and will definitely be useful in the future. You're very welcome
DeleteThank you for the article. It will help people who got that incident to heal. It is really important to know these. Ussually when we experienced that we got panic or blank. Thank you for writing about this.
ReplyDeleteright. At least we have the basic knowledge of dealing with emergency situations even though we shouldn't do it rashly and it can reduce panic. You're quite welcome
Deletegreat article. to be honest, I was also traumatized after the fire incident at our place around mid-2022
ReplyDeletesad to see what happened. Of course, fire trauma must be overcome with a psychological approach
DeleteThanks for sharing, Kak Vicky, how to handle some accidents. It definitely will be helpful for many people because not everybody know how to handle the emergency situation
ReplyDeleteagree. Plus the panic makes it even more confusing to do something. You're very welcome

Aamiin.
DeleteWhen red the title, I thought about psychology trauma. But, it was more about physical trauma when someone in accident. It was be better, if the title be spesific by adding "Physical Trauma Life Support" or "How to Treat Physical Trauma Life Support" ❤️
ReplyDeletethanks for the advice. You are very observant. Actually this is basic knowledge for ordinary people when they have to help people, using a physical therapy approach and using a psychological approach as well (although the psychology section is only a little), for example if you have the knowledge to help people but are unable to due to panic seeing the victim's condition, of course it shouldn't be forced
DeleteEveryone should know how to do first aid when injuries occure. Unfortunately, it isn't taught at school. Btw, thank you for the information.
ReplyDeleteThat's right. As with the science of disaster mitigation, it is rarely taught in formal schools. You're very welcome

ReplyDeleteInteressante postagem.
ReplyDeleteKadang terlihat sepele, seperti menangani orang tersedak. Kalau gak ngerti cara menanganinya bisa jadi sangat berbahaya
wow, if handling incidents outside the country konoha doesn't use the television call wkwk. no catfish drama
ReplyDeleteyour comments are very critical and funny, perfect for making memes hehe... That's the great country of Konaha and Wakanda, but the local wisdom that is owned is unique in itself
Deletewow, if handling incidents outside the country konoha doesn't use the television call wkwk. no catfish drama
ReplyDeleteIt's in a country in Asia, sometimes you don't get emergency help, but someone takes a photo or records so it goes viral on social media hehe..
DeleteThis is an argument on which everyone has his/hers idea and and is right about it. Every case is different and different people can come with different ideas and solutions. It is good to talk about it, have a possibility to know what others think and reason from different perspectives.
ReplyDeletethanks for your opinion. This article is based on experience when helping others in an emergency before medical action is taken. The more knowledge and experience sharing, the better
DeleteBuon fine settimana.
