The Importance of Teeth Scaling to Prevent more Serious Diseases

Many people think that teeth scaling is just routine treament that is not important, just to make the teeth more beautiful. Some people think that brushing their teeth & gargling is enough. That is the wrong mindset. Scaling teeth become a necessity that is done 1-2 times a year to prevent disease of teeth, gums, & ever body organs.

Many people think that teeth is expensive. But, they don't realize that if they never scale their teeth, then get dental & oral disease, & spread to other organs,  it will much more expensive. So, it can be said that teeth scaling is a long- term health Investment.

Teeth scaling divided into 2: regular teeth scaling and root planing.  The difference: root planing is for more serious tartar cleaning, more difficult to do, it takes longer, & more expensive. I've tried root planing, the doctor more detailed in cleaning tartar.

Before scaling your teeth, make sure your blood pressure & sugar level are normals to avoid excessive bleeding. The mind must be relaxed, not anxious. After teeth scaling, avoid eating hard & hot foods. If there any doubt or history serious illness, consult a dentist

Teeth Scaling on Myself by The Dentist in Dakota Branch SB Dental, Bandung, Indonesia

Teeth scaling has many benefits:
1. Preventing gum diseases that can spread to other organ
2. Removing stains & maintain tooth color
3. Reducing the risk of caries
4. Freshening breath
5. Improving overall oral health

Of all the benefits, the most important thing is poin number one. Sometimes we are lazy to go to the dentist untill we are forced to because the condition of your teeth or gums is getting worse. When that happens, disease complications can arise, ranging from deadly oral cancer, hearth attack, & diabetes. This requires help from more specialist doctor, need a lot of medicine & of course requires more medical costs. Of course, it is not good for the kidneys if you take too much medicine. So, serious dental & gum disease can result in disease complications that can worsen the condition, even resulting in death. Let's take care of our teeth & gums, both by doing self-care and by going to the dentist regularly at least once a year.

  3. Very important to keep your teeth in good condition.
I go to the dental hygienist 4 times a year and to the dentist 2 times a year.
It is quite expensive even if you are insured.
I wish you a nice Pentecost weekend.
    Greetings Irma

  4. Teeth scaling is expensive, but it will be more expensive if you never scale your teeth, and then have to go to the dentist with worse teeth and gum conditions.

  7. By eliminating disease-causing bacteria, it not only improves gum health—reducing bleeding and pocket depth—but also supports systemic wellness, lowering inflammation and risks for conditions such as heart disease and respiratory infections . Regular scaling sessions, alongside good home hygiene, form a powerful preventive duo that helps maintain a bright, comfortable smile and strengthens overall health. :D

  8. Wow, this really made me realize how important teeth scaling is. I’ve been putting off going to the dentist, not realizing it could lead to serious health issues—even affecting other organs. The point about gum disease leading to complications really got me thinking. From now on, I’ll try to take better care of my teeth and schedule regular check-ups. Thank you for the article, it’s really helpful!
